Dr. Samantha Yung obtained her degrees from the University of Hong Kong. She has been practising as a clinical psychologist since 2004. She has extensive experience working in a variety of settings, including the Department of Psychiatry at United Christian Hospital, the Department of Health (Elderly Health Services), the Hong Kong Police Force and a private institute as a clinical psychologist. She has worked with individuals of all ages, from children to the elderly, and has developed particular expertise in working with adults and providing corporate psychological support.

Samantha currently holds the position of Honorary Assistant Professor at the LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong, and serves as an Academic Assessor for a Nursing Programme at the HKU SPACE. Samantha has previously served as an Honorary Clinical Supervisor for clinical psychology trainees from both the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has also held several other honorary positions, including Program Advisory Committee member for counselling programs at Lingnan University and Hong Kong Baptist University. Samantha is often invited as guest speaker and mindfulness teacher at various universities, government departments and organizations. She contributes regularly to local newspapers and is often invited by the media for expert opinions on a range of mental health topics.
Samantha specializes in the application of mindfulness-based interventions, hypnotherapy, and cognitive-behavioral approaches to address a range of mental health issues. She also employs Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing techniques, and Dynamic Attachment Repatterning experience approach (DARe) to help clients process different level of traumatic experiences. Samantha has a particular interest in working with individuals who have experienced childhood trauma, relational trauma, post-traumatic stress, and addiction. Samantha sees psychotherapy as a transformative journey towards self-discovery and personal growth, rather than simply a means of symptom reduction. She works closely with clients to address underlying issues and fosters their ongoing personal development and flourishing. Her goal is to help clients achieve lasting positive change.
Samantha has been practicing mindfulness since 2006 and is a certified mindfulness and registered yoga teacher. She is passionate about spreading the benefits of mindfulness, which she believes is a transformative path towards self-discovery, well-being, inner peace, compassion, and wisdom.
